Primer contacto FR5-ZS en 144 MHz

Hola,

Al parecer, ayer han conseguido por primera vez contactar en 2m entre la isla Reunión y SudAfrica.
El contacto fue entre FR5DN y ZS2GK en digitales y unos 2880 Km de distancia.

Glenn, Tks, great screenshots.

I have recorded your decoded transmissions here, i just need to get the
files for reading and screenshots.

Today, when arrived home i could see on the screen several decoded
periods from your transmission too.

That means the path was open at several occasions today.

I did get these with the in-shack preamp of my power amplifier, no
masthead preamp, and you were at best -11db at 10h55/10h57 utc!

With masthead on, you'd be much better. I just wanted to confirm that.

Digital bcn proved its efficiency, as even not being home, i have trace
of openning which is recorded!

The bcn is still txing of course.

I just wanted to let ZS5 stations that just after our qso last evening i
had traces on the screen but no decode. It was for sure ZS5DJ oy ZS5Y
calling me!...

I called FR1GZ to let him know, and he is monitoring the 144.401 JT
also, and he is ready for trx. So i told him to look for a qsy qrg so he
can qso you. I also told him that if he works ZS2GK, im quite sure that
my distance record will be broken, hi.

So he is waiting for some calls from you too. He will be transmitting
same sequence as me, that is first.
I'll see with him if he can run his trx in bcn mode as well, and keep
you posted.

My day has been very busy, and i came home late, so i don't think i'll
have the webpage ready for tonight. I'll do my best. I have to go for
dinner now.

Keep pointing FR, there is another station ready for qso...

And Bert, i'm ready for the first 70cms qso, phone and digital!!
