Primeramente felicitaros el año y haceros participes del mensaje que me envian Rene PE1L, Eltje PA3CEE and Johan PE9DX.

After the very successfull DXpedition to Mauritius past year (3B8EME with 340 inits on 144 MHz and 7 inits om 432 MHz) Rene, PE1L will try again to make moonbounce QSO's from the Gambia on 144 MHz and 432 MHz.
This time Eltje PA3CEE and Johan PE9DX will join the party again.
Don't change a winning team!
We will be QRV moonbounce 2 meter as C56EME, a special moonbounce permit is requested.
If all ok we will have a small 70cm setup with us.
From February 11st until February 21st 2011, C56EME will be active from The Gambia on 144 MHz moonbounce. The locator will be IK13ql
The plan is to leave February 9th and build up the station before the weekend.
It's a hard job to get the license there. We first have to register us as taxpayers and have a lot of patience and...
We want to be active at least during two whole weekends when there is good activity in combination with good moon conditions.
Last operation presumably February 21st.
Internet possibility is unsure but we try to send at least once a day a update via MoonNet, MMMonVHF and our mailinglist.
If internet will be low, we will try (one way) communication through Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/PA3CEE and http://twitter.com/AtleticoTeamExp in order to inform with short messages.
Frequency:
We always TX and RX 144.124 MHz
We use 1 minute periods and we will TX always first.
Setup:
2 x 8 Xpol yagi
400 watt amplifier and a low NF preamp (WA2ODO)

Well, less than three weeks to go before C56EME will come on air from IK13ql in The Gambia!
The tickets did arrive and the special callsign C56EME is OK.
Our swedish hosts in the Gambia did phone etc. for more than in a week and all these efforts resulted in our license.
We are very pleased with them. They did a nice job!
Today Rene PE1L, Elthe PA3CEE and Johan PE9DX tested the aerials 2x8 Xpol at the QTH of Fred PE1DAB.

It was a big success. Fred cooked a delicious peasoup for the hungry C56EME team.
We tested indoor, in order to see if everything fits and if a good equilibration can be obtained. The aereals will be pointed to the moon manually with help of ropes and stones, so it is important to have everyrhing stable. We succeeded!

Nada hombre, es un placer, y enhorabuena.
Estan teniendo unas condiciones muy buenas y las esta aprovechando mucha gente.
Esta mañana me han comentado que llevaban 292 iniciales.
En la estancia parece que no estan tan bien... jeje...grandes roedores, problemas con la poli y sus AK47, y un sinfin de anecdotas que ya me gustaria a mi vivirlas. Ademas mañana se van de safari...no seben na, a la noche EME, y de dia a moverse.

Pedro sabes si las tienen enfasadas con conmutadores en H y V ó con circular.

Juan Antonio, no lo se seguro, se lo podria preguntar, pero es raro. Normalmente estaciones con XP suelen usa solo H / V , pero igual alguno hay en circular.

Hola chicos.
Comentaros que los amigos de la expedicion han conseguido un nuevo record "EME DXpedition", que anteriormente tambien lo tenian ellos.
Ya llevan 342 iniciales, superando su antiguo record de 340 que consiguieron en su expedicion "3B8EME Mauritius 2010".
Llevan trabajadas 45 estaciones con una sola antena, asi que animaros, que aunque sin alevacion, a la salida o bajada de la luna igual algo RX, por intentarlo no se pierde nada.
Felicitaciones por ese nuevo record, ya que esa cantidad de iniciales es dificil de conseguir mas ahun si cabe con 2x antenas. Tambien denota creo yo que cada vez se anima mas gente a esta modalidad, y otros que en su dia probaron, han mejorado su instalacion aumentandola para poder llegar a mas estaciones y conseguir el QSO.

Lo que son las cosas, han salido hasta en las noticias e incluso el propio presidente de Gambia esta interesado en hacerles una visita.
Por cierto 355 iniciales.
Estan intentando hacer QSO tambien en 432, pero creo que eso solo esta al alcance de los BIG GUN, ya que solo tienen 1x23 y 50w. Ahun asi han conseguido 7 estaciones.
Lastima de una gran porabola...jejeje.
